Winter Weaving: Alpaca Bandana Scarf Including Rigid Heddle Loom Set Up Feb. 22&23 2025 $360

Weaver Sedona Rigsby joins us again in February to guide you in your fiber journey! In this class, you'll learn to weave a gorgeous winter scarf from soft alpaca yarn and to independently set up a rigid heddle loom. This key skill is essential to progressing as a weaver and we are delighted to offer this added level of education to our students.

Perfect for beginners and students looking to expand their skills, this workshop focuses on experimenting with fuzzy fibers, fringe, and on-loom design. With step-by-step guidance, you’ll easily warp the loom, avoid common mistakes, and weave with confidence. By the end of the weekend, you’ll have a versatile bandana-style scarf and the next level of knowledge in your weaving journey.

On Day 1: We will warp our Kromski looms, discuss project planning, and start weaving.

On Day 2: We will finish our beautiful weavings, take projects off the loom, and complete the finishing touches.

We'll cover:

+rigid heddle loom mechanics

+direct warping

+weaving ergonomics

+ finishing techniques like hemstitching, fringe twisting, and joining

+ plus how to calculate yarn requirements for future projects.

We provide high-quality materials, looms to use for the day, and advice for selecting tools for your future weaving practice.
